Environmental volunteering in Belate, Navarra.

This June 6th, in the Belate area (Baztan), we celebrated an environmental volunteering day on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5th) organized by Orekan – Environmental Management of Navarra.

✨ What did we do?

✅ Removal of branches and debris from a Lawson cypress plantation accumulated on waterlogged soils with sphagnum moss, a key habitat for biodiversity and carbon storage.

✅ Selective clearing of gorse (Ulex gallii) to promote the development of the wet heath of Erica tetralix, a priority habitat target of LIFE GLOBAL.

💚 Thanks to the efforts of all the volunteers, we have contributed to improving the condition of these fragile and valuable habitats.

📍 Small actions, big impacts.
