LIFE GLOBAL beneficiaries share common objectives, have extensive experience in similar projects, possess the necessary technical skills and capabilities, and are aware of the importance of a LIFE project in achieving greater effectiveness and impact. The proposed work packages reflect the beneficiaries’ available resources and the project’s stated objectives.

Project management and activity coordination (WP1)

WP1 includes the entire project management and coordination process.

Preparatory measures (WP2, WP3)

The project will include the execution of two work packages (WP2, WP3) that are considered preparatory for the specific conservation actions (WP6–WP14).

Land purchase and compensation payments for usage rights (WP4, WP5)

Two separate work packages (WP4 and WP5) are required, relating to land acquisition and compensation payments, which are essential to achieving conservation objectives and will be implemented using the beneficiaries’ own resources.

Concrete conservation actions (WP6–WP14)

A total of nine work packages are planned to carry out restoration and conservation actions at 31 sites in the Natura 2000 Network, where the conservation status of priority habitats and priority target species will be improved.

Monitoring and evaluation of the impact of project actions (WP15–WP20)

The project proposes six distinct work packages (WP15-WP20) aimed at evaluating project results at different levels. These packages will incorporate specific, proven methodologies, as they have been successfully implemented in previous LIFE projects.

Public awareness and dissemination of results (WP21)

WP21 will implement a comprehensive communication and dissemination strategy for project results, as well as for raising awareness of the priority habitats and priority species targeted by LIFE GLOBAL. This strategy will be implemented through a comprehensive set of tools and the execution of actions and events that will contribute to greater dissemination, information, and awareness of the project, both among the general public and among stakeholders who can apply its results, with the aim of achieving high levels of impact.

Sustainability, replication and exploitation of results (WP22, WP23)

WP22 envisions the implementation of an ambitious strategy for the sustainability, replicability, and leveraging of the results and lessons learned from the WP6-WP14 conservation packages, their preparatory actions WP2 and WP3, and the WP15-WP20 monitoring and evaluation actions. The high catalytic potential of LIFE GLOBAL will be leveraged, allowing for the project’s impacts to be multiplied through the implementation of techniques, methods, or strategies developed elsewhere. Furthermore, a greater leveraging of the results will be ensured, both during project execution and after its completion, through the development of a Post-LIFE GLOBAL Conservation Plan.
