Students from the UNED-Porriño university extension course “Ecological Restoration: A Valuable Tool for the Conservation of the Natural Environment” visited three examples of wetland restoration in the A Limia plain. The day began in Veiga de Gomareite, where they learned firsthand about the work previously carried out by SGHN-Sección Antela (whose representatives also participated in the visit), as well as the actions recently completed within the framework of the LIFE GLOBAL project (planting legumes as a habitat highly selected by the little bustard) and those planned to begin in the coming weeks (pasture restoration, creation of a large watering hole for wildlife and livestock).
