The LIFE GLOBAL project, together with the LIFE INSULAR project, organized the Summer Course “Nature Restoration: challenges, strategies and action proposals”, during the past July 7 to 10, 2025, at the “Casa da Costa” Visitor Reception Centre of the Natural Park of the Corrubedo Dune Complex and Carregal and Vixán Lagoons (Ribeira, A Coruña, Galicia).

The course brought together 15 students with technical degrees in environmental fields, professionals from nature conservation agencies, and local government technicians. Participants received a series of engaging presentations focused on the objectives and goals set by the European Biodiversity Strategy, the European Green Infrastructure Strategy, and the European Regulation on Ecological Restoration. All of these provisions are aligned with the restoration strategy implemented by LIFE GLOBAL.

During the course, students were able to learn firsthand about the locations where LIFE GLOBAL operates in the Corrubedo Wetland Complex (ES1110006), and discuss on-site the challenges and strategic aspects of improving the conservation status of priority habitats in the Natura 2000 Network.
