Between 20 and 24 August 2026, the IBERO-ARMORICAIN networking workshop was held, for the exchange of information on the conservation and management measures of Eryngium viviparum. It is an Atlantic endemic species, a small biennial hydrophyte belonging to the umbellifer family, which occurs in clayey plains and depressions subject to temporary waterlogging in Brittany, Northern Portugal and Northwestern Spain.
On the occasion of this event, researcher Yvon Guillevic from the environmental organisation Bretagne Vivante, from Brittany (NW France), visited the populations of this species in Northwestern Spain (A Limia, Zamora) and Northern Portugal (Bragança) together with the different beneficiaries and associated entities of LIFE GLOBAL. This comprehensive visit made it possible to assess the population dynamics of the visited localities (as they had already been visited during the first edition of the workshop in 2025) and to analyse the botanical criteria for differentiating the various described subspecies.
