Ribadeo Town Council, a beneficiary of the LIFE GLOBAL project, was a finalist in the Annual Galicia European Funds Communication Competition – #EuropaXunta Awards, for the achievements made in the restoration of natural habitats through the LIFE FLUVIAL project. The recognition took place on 5 November 2026, at an event held at the Galician Centre for Contemporary Art (CGAC), in Santiago de Compostela.
The application was submitted by Ribadeo Town Council itself, a beneficiary partner of LIFE FLUVIAL, a project that laid the foundations for the work and collaboration on which LIFE GLOBAL is now continuing to build.
This competition seeks to recognise and raise the profile of European projects that contribute to the development of Galicia, highlighting the impact of European funds on the region and bringing their results closer to the public.
For many local councils, especially those with limited technical and human resources, participating in this type of initiative can represent a significant challenge. In this regard, partnership-based work facilitates their involvement, thanks to collaboration between organisations that contribute different knowledge and capabilities, such as IBADER (also a beneficiary of LIFE GLOBAL), which provides technical support and advice for the development of the actions.
